Rooted in ancient Chinese folklore, it is performed to bring good fortune, drive away evil spirits, and celebrate prosperity during festivals and special occasions such as Lunar New Year or grand openings. The dance features two performers inside a vividly decorated lion costume—one controlling the head and the other the body and tail—moving in perfect harmony to the rhythms of drums, cymbals, and gongs
